There are ‘good’ and ‘bad’ leftists. ‘Good’ leftists must belong to a partylist group. They demand the inclusion of civil society groups in government transactions. They participate in tripartite meetings, they attend UN conferences, they hate Joma... more

Proclamation 1959 is a dress-rehearsal for the power-addicted Arroyo Regime. Military rule is no substitute for the lack of political will in giving justice to the victims of the Ampatuan Massacre. The regular powers of the police and the armed... more

HomeANAKBAYAN was founded on November 30, 1998...Mar 11, 2008
ANAKBAYAN is the comprehensive National-Democratic mass organization of the Filipino youth nationwide and in several U.S & Japanese cities, promoting TLEKS.

Why Comprehensive? It aims to unite, and welcomes, the different Filipino youths - young farmers, workers, students, professionals, out-of-school youth, fisherfolks, Moros, Christians, indigenous peoples, migrants, women, and homosexuals.

Why Mass? It is open to any Filipino from 13-35 years old who accepts the need to advance national democracy for a truly just and humane society.

What is TLEKS? It is ANAKBAYAN's Program, and stands for Trabaho (Decent Jobs for all), Lupa (Land to the Peasants), Edukasyon (Nationalist, Scientific, & Mass-Oriented Educational System), Karapatan (Respect for Civil/Political Rights), Serbisyong Panlipunan (Comprehensive Social Policy & Services).

What is National Democracy? The recognition of the fact that our society is in crisis because it is semi-colonial and semi-feudal, or dominated by the interests of the tiny Filipino landlord elite, foreign powers, and their puppets in Government. It is also the concrete program for Social Change: National Democracy as opposed to Semi-Colonialism & Semi-Feudalism.
